Firstly, the physiotherapist will complete a static and dynamic assessment of your animal. After this, the physiotherapist will begin the treatments which will be specific to your animals needs. Lastly, the physiotherapist will go through some therapeutic exercises tailored to your animal.
Massage is used for multiple different reasons including the warming up of the muscles, increasing blood flow to the area, reducing tension and improving flexibility. It is often used throughout treatment and even owners can have a go!
Stretching aids in the improvement of muscle and joint flexibility. Often performed after other techniques, targeted stretches can help reduce tension and strengthen weakened areas.
This can either be rehabilitation programmes tailored to the individuals specific injury, or a group of exercises specific to the animal's needs. All exercises are completed by the physiotherapist and then shown to the owner to complete at home.
We have available a Class 3B laser which aids in the healing of wounds, soft tissue injuries, tendon & ligament injuries and fractures. The non- invasive and pain free procedure is beneficial for all clients, especially those who may be in too much discomfort for initial manual work.
Using magnetic fields, this electrotherapy can accelerate the healing process, reduce inflammation and reduce pain. This therapy is also a non-invasive treatment. Additionally they are able to have this treatment whilst manual therapies are being carried out.
This therapy uses mild electrical currents on the muscles to stimulate the nerve pathways, remove muscle spasms and help with acute or chronic pain.
